Over my 40 years of painting I have developed a perspective of appreciation for the simple things of every day life and the hard working people, having grown up the oldest of nine children in Limerick.
As a young mother I attended Limerick School of Art & Design for a time, while making ends meet selling work at the local potato market. I emigrated to America and, while living there, painted the things I missed most about Ireland – seeing horses and sheep and cows, things like that. I feel blessed that I was able to come home in 2004 and I live and work in Lahinch, County Clare.

I am lucky enough to have a studio in my home, and from time to time I invite people to open days. If you follow me on Facebook (Wild Atlantic Artist Yvonne Mahar) you will see when I announce these days.
