Dick Burke who is a native of Cashel, Co.
Tipperary
took up painting as a hobby when he retired from 2nd
level teaching to work in the field of Adult Religious
Education in the Killaloe Diocese. He specialises in
Landscapes and most of his subjects are taken from the
western counties stretching from Donegal in the North
through Connemara
and Clare to Kerry in the South. They feature mountain,
lake,
river. rock and sea which are part
and parcel of some of our most beautiful scenery and the
atmosphere of
calm and quiet
pervading these scenes is
frequently captured in the painting. As a member of Inis
Artists he has exhibited in Kinvara, Kilrush, Kilkee,
Ennis, Shannon, Adare,
Limerick and Tralee.
