Since moving to the west of Ireland in 1989, I have developed an interest in watercolour painting and creative photography, particularly enjoying the play of light on field patterns, rock and water that seems so special in this region. I have a great love of wildlife & nature and conservation themes are a regular feature of my paintings.
I co-ordinated the Clare Arts Office Embrace Programme for people with disabilities until retiring in 2016 and continue to help people of all abilities create art for themselves.
Since setting up Rockvale Garden Studio in the heart of the Burren lowlands, I find myself surrounded by inspiration for the atmospheric watercolours I aim to create. Travel is also influencing my work at present and, after a winter in the Canary Islands, I have completed a series of sketches from the locations I visited. Currently travelling in the UK I am also making new sketches for a future series of work.
My landscapes and seascapes can be seen at the various Inis Artists exhibitions throughout the summer and, on my return in September, at the studio by appointment. I am also happy to work on private commissions.
